this bloke got really badly injured, in fact, i'd say maimed, whilst taking part in a sport that goes back maybe 5000 years & is full of history & tradition.......lets not get all animal rights on this issue....especially as the OP put up a thread about blowing away some pigeons...

That is one of the reasons pigeons are hated lol.

mowgli, there is quite a difference. The pigeons I killed are vermin and pests. A bull could not be further from this! A matador teasing an animal which has been previously starved, dehydrated and injured to purposely weaken it all in the name of 'sport' deserves everything he gets!

its funny that the same set of regulations in the eu seem to cover animal welfare, yet hundreds of british slaughterhouses got closed because they couldn't comply.....but the sport of bullfighting is still allowed to continue, when these days, it is simply a glorified method of slaughtering an animal with a chance for the bull to fight back....

Probably because they consider bull fighting to be an art form, up there with dancing, singing, painting etc. :/

I'd like to see the matadors fight a full strength one. Pointless outdated activity imo.

i always thought they actually looked after the bulls, and they re-use them a good few times.. when you bear in mind that a bull takes about 3 years to mature properly, they can't exactly go replacing them every couple of weeks..

I can understand its an old Spanish tradition but if you're gonna **** with something that weighs about a ton and can/will hurt you, you're just tempting fate so I say he got what was coming to him.

In the link i posted it state the bull was killed by sword after this happened.
