Yes if you buy 6k bulbs they should have the same fitment as your 12k bulbs

And nice to see you posting on here peanut :thumb:

Ah, not quite as simple as h4 bulbs then, but surely they're difficult to do? not tom

well the kit ive got isnt a Hi/Low kit, so got to wire up the outter light for the HID's then wire up the inners just to work on full beam, but i need to change the bulb type from H2 to H7

Pretty sure HIDs tend to all have the same connectors, my 9006/9005/H4s all connect the same. Only difference is the H4s have an extra connector for the sheild solenoid.

Remember on morettes you will need to wire it so the outer/dipped beams stay on whilst the inner/main beams are on.

cheers jack,

were can i get the projector lamps from for HID's?

i am looking for a 5" HID lamps that i can fit into my morretes (not at silly prices)

as putting HID bulbs in Halogen lamps in classed as breaking the law,

cheers

Projector lamps? Errrrrmmmm pass. lol Have a search round for some that might fit, but I couldn't find any suitable ones when I looked. Aren't they 5¼" lamps in Morettes though?

HID bulb in a halogen lamp isn't breaking the law btw. BUT you will need headlight washers and possibly a working manual or auto levelling device depending on the beam pattern and if you consider the EU rules should be backdated (which technically they aren't). And of course make sure the beam pattern is acceptable, properly aligned and all that jazz.

if i'm totally honest they have a more distintive(sp?) pattern than the halgen h4's i had in before, but i am waiting for some 6000k bulbs to take the blue tint away,

they might be 5 1/4" :) and as for headlight washer i can install the Cavalier GSI washers (if i can find some) and autoleveler's how would i go about them?

There isn't; I think the set I bought for the Nova cost about £35 delivered and were pretty much the same stuff (bar the battery harness and English instructions) as the £100+ kit I have on the Celica lol

As for auto levellers, that all comes down to the beam pattern. If its the same as your halogens, whatever they have will be suitable. Auto levellers are only required with AFS headlights (i.e. the ones on modern cars which turn with the steering). Again though, thats if you interpret the EU regs as being back dated...

i remember checking with my MOT mate when i fitted mine and he said that headlight washers in relation to HID's are only on the test as part that the washers work ie spray/wipe, the presence of the washers on the car is not required, but the fuzz can do you on dirty lenses anytime, so just on the air of caution, if you have HID's keep them clean

that kind of goes without saying, they can also do you on dirty number plates, but my car is clean 99% of the time anyway.
