Hi,
Im building up a 16SV engine to go in my classic mini, but it doesnt currently have a distributer. (i am planning on running it on bike carbs)
I know the 1.4SR dizzy is the one to have, but i cant find one :(
The bosch unit fitted to the 1.6 GTE engine...
Can that be fitted, but without the wire from the ECU which would appear to be the replacement for the vacuum advanced on the SR dizzy? So that i essentially run it like this:
+ and - to coil, + and - from coil to dizzy, dizzy to earth (through the engine normally) With no signal wire from the ECU? Or will it just not work?
Also, are the coils the same on the SR as on the GTE?
