Nova wont start

Can anyone offer any advice. Drove the car the other day no problems at all.

Went to start later, starter motor turned for a few seconds but engine didnt start, stopped went to turn over again and the starter motor just clicked,

Thought it must be the starter motor so took it out, connected it to battery and it comes out and spins,
put it back in, got a new battery and tried it again, and nope still just clicking.

I have just run out of ideas and would appreciate any ideas.

you checked your gearbox earth strap ?

stuck it in 3rd gear, let the handbrake off & rock it backwards & forwards. sometimes, the starter doesn't line up just right on the flywheel.

could be ignition switch also, run wire from battery live to starter motor trigger to see if it cranks then
