trying to find out as soon as if im right or my mate is my nova with a c25xe ( 2.5 v6 ) has had a few problems the head gasket whent pop so that was done then the oil cooler split thats mounted beetween the heads now i say if we by pass it it has to have a front mount oil cooler and my mate says no sod it just join the pipes together so will it work with no oil cooler or not ?

It'd work either way BUT i'd deffo plumb an external cooler in. If GM thought it would be ok then they'd not have bothered with one to start with.

stick an external one on mate the c25xe oil cooler design is pants runs through a water jacket and rusts through contaminating the water giving head gasket symptoms

If its in FWD application, keep an oil cooler. The rear head gets awful warm and whilst an oil cooler won't make a massive difference, every little helps lol

If its RWD, just ditch it lol
