New pins are about twenty pence each from Vauxhall and if they doesn't work give the door a bit of a lift in the open position and try and persuade the hinges up a little

The long term solution is to stop giving lifts to people who slam your doors

Yeah or I was thinking of attaching some kind of damper to it, like those new kitchens have that the draws can't slam

Or adjust the latch on the pillar.

Original nova ones can get replaced by later ones on the vectra astra corsa etc

remember to lift & support the open end of the door with a jack when you attempt to remove the pins, as the dropped pins form a shape not far off what a camshaft looks like & when you try to knock them out without support, they jam up,

everyone does it with mine too, so I close the door for them, even someone who is used to driving modern renaults etc, seem to think you have to ram the gears, try to pull the handbrake lever off the car and so on.......

Perhaps I should join the modern ones and buy a tank too!

I had a dropped door on new pins and it turned out the hinge never moved at the pin but it was moving between the bit of the hinge welded to the door and the door
