Hey

Was wondering how to get more power from my 1.2i. It is fair nippy at the mo an ive had 110 out of it at a massive push but want it to go faster an be more nippier.

Could i stick a 1.4 16v corsa engine it cos i want to keep the insurance down before investing in a 2.0 16v turbo

Any help

you could tune the lil 1.2 or stick a bigger lump in like you siad. The corsa 1.4 should fit in or you could go with a 1.4SRI or something similar.

easiest/best/cheapest swop would be a 1.6 gte/gsi engine

sri may cuase problems due to tricky wiring

110 in a 1.2 - that'll be those accurate clocks and a tail wind then

jokin - probably.

TBH if you want more than 110 out of a nova regularly you need a GTE or valver - be cheaper to buy one save the hastle of strengthening, lowering, exchanging engine wiring etc... and transplant the bits off yours onto it.

And if you do 110 in yer current 1.2 and the cars constantly nippying about (ie burning off the lights) your engines probably taken a battering and wont last too long without summut going big time - trust me - been there done that 2 engines later

youy cvan mod a 1.2 but you wont get that much more gains unless you do serious mods - theres a guide in the guides section...

it wont be as easy to go from a 1.2i to a 1.4sr though. If you gonna do it do it propperly and fit a GTE or GSI engine both should go in ok and give the most gains without going down the valver route.

i was gonna put a gsi in but i dident because i cud only get a engine for around 150 an i got the 1.4 for only 30 plus next march im puttin a 2.0 16v in it.

a 1.4 16v engine from a Corsa Sport (or any vauxhall 1.4 16v engine) will give out 90bhp. This is better compared to a 1.6 8v thats 100bhp from a Nova GTE or GSI.
Insurance wise you will save more and will be more worth while.
