Currently in the progress of refurbing my RFX's and getting them painted by the bodyshop painting the Nova. Anyway, i'm trying to remove the lacquer/plastic coating on the outer rim. As it was peeling on three of the wheels it came off really easily but one of them is being a ba**ard and isn't coming off.

I've tried using a scraper, sharp blade and hot air gun and it isn't really coming off. It's really thick and when it comes off it feels like a plastic coating.

Any help will be really appreciated. Cheers.

Cheers, I'll get some of that and give it a go. Looking on Google it seems to do the job pretty well!

NitroMors will strip powder coat aswell.

Just make sure you wash off thoroughly after use & before paint though!!

It's ****e now! Just been stripping some Superlites today. The 'new concentrated formula' which claims to be faster acting and require less applications is dog turd!

The stuff is green now, and doesn't even apply very well. Last time I buy Nitromors!

A sad day indeed. :(

I used some at work the other day as well (we had to strip paint off a part of the bead blasting machine, so couldn't blast it obviously lol) took about 2 hours of multiple applications to get through powder coat, end up wire wheeling the rest off anyway.

Been using it wrong then. You dont paint it on, you dollop it on & leave it for about 5 minutes until the paint/powder coat starts crinkling.

I mean I applied it with a brush (stippled). It just doesn't go on or act anywhere near as well as it used to. There's no doubting it.

I had already stripped three of the wheels with old type Nitromors (have used this many times for many things in the past) and it came off as you describe. This new crap barely makes a dent!

Being 'int trade an all, I know they had to revise the formula due to incredibly high VOC output, as the proper olde world Nitromoors used to be EPIC & give you nose bleeds lol

Yeah, I read a while ago that they were having to change it due to that. Bad times!

Put it this way, you don't even need to wear gloves now! Gone are the days when even a little fleck felt like it would burn a hole in your forearm lol.
