Is there a step by step guide anywhere that shows you how to overcome a c20xe standard engine running on 3 cylinders? It's been in my nova for a while now and this morning I went to drive it out the garage and it's not running on all 4? Just to avoid confusion, it's the early dizzy type engine. New plugs fitted a month ago
Any help much appreciated. Matt
Start with what you'd check on any 4 cylinder engine!
pull the plug out and see if its sparking
swap the plugs round and see if it follows the plug, if it does you know its the plug
if it stays the same swap the leads around. if it moves you know its the lead or cap (if its a dizzy)
if it dosnt move move your injectors around, if it moves its the injector
if it dosnt do a compression test
As said above pull each lead to see exactly which cylinder it is and run it with one off at a time see if it's worse or the same or just see which pipe on the manifold is stayin coolest just after start up make sure there is no oil or moisture in the plug holes
