Where do these names of parts come from?

Just looking through my 1984 nova broacher and SR/Sport interior is called Plaid Sport Cloth, and the bottom hath grey is called Foil lol

So where do we get the name Daytona check for the seats? and where do we get vinyl from, as Vauxhall never called them that? lol lol :p

We call it vinyl because it, er, is vinyl. lol

As for the random naming of bits of trim, probably done just to make it sound more exotic. Where as us mere mortals tend to just name things to make it easier, e.g. instead of front lower valance/front spoiler/front airdam we call it 'snowplough' lol

So are you saying that there actually called that from the Sport, and only the Sport had them seat's in??

Daytona was in early sr and sport the brown sport plaid was out at the same time as the more common

I have contacted a chap who has plaid sport trim in 3 different colours, brown grey and tan, he also has antibies blue, but as of yet I've not got a price per metre,

Sadly there is no daytona check :(
