Well I have just finished sorting out my garage, its nearly a year since I had a tidy up and a good few years since I had a sort and bin / sell of general stuff that has accumulated.
Anyway I needed an easy way of getting my roof box up and down from the ceiling of the garage where it lives.
I was looking at some form of winch type system like you can use to suspend bikes - these kits were not rated sufficiently for the weight I needed ..... so I made my own.
Started yesterday morning - welded up a bracket to hold a boat winch which I sourced from Ebay ....

Then put some hooks into the ceiling joists and ran some 550lb cord through them and connected the hook and carabena clips...

Then got the roof box attached...

And winched away - result.....

Whilst in tidying and making mode, the wife was wanting a storage solution for the hose pipe attachments, so after 5 hose fittings, a bracket and some chequer plate I came up with this - attached it to the wall this morning !
