Here is my 1990 Nova SR 1.4 in Rembrant Silver. I purchased her in September 2011, after a long time searching, and many wasted trips up and down the country looking at other people's idea of 'mint condition'. I came across her advertised on the internet, and after a flight from Edinburgh to Southampton, we met the previous owner, Matt (having been only the 2nd owner of the car) at the airport. After a short drive back to his home in Portsmouth, I had a good look over the car and the deal was done. A short visit to the petrol station and I was set for the 500 mile drive back to Dunfermline, Fife. She drove the whole journey faultlessly. The next day (..7am) I embarked on the cleaning process .. engine bay, all arches, door checks, boot checks and the bodywork were all cleaned. To my amazement all the OK stamps are still on the bodywork, although they were hidden under a few years worth of built up grime! For now she is tucked away in the garage, but the process of buying goodies for her has started :)

wwmnw - all panels are original and as it left the factory but the car was painted 2 years ago and all vinyls were replaced.
7ova - yeah thats the one thing I am looking to get, and struggling to find.

Thanks mate . Few small plans for it nuthing over the top tho . Keeping the sr look as i think its stunning aswell . Just a few mods for better drivability . Cheers guys
Excellent choice of car but then I am biased.
according to "how many left" website only 2 *1990 mk 1 SR still exist
yours is one ..... and ours is the other.
http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/vauxhall_nova_sr?model=D0274
(we all know the statistics are wrong but there are certainly not many as later 1990 post november were mk2 and 1989 were mainly 1.3)
1990 2 0
1989 40 76
1988 45 80
1987 17 20
1986 8 13
1985 9 25
1984 9 22
1983 0 4

It also got me wondering how many 1989 Sr 1.4 still exist (launched October 1989) - cannot be many - only one 1989 G reg springs to mind on png. The project thread is essential reading (even if no longer original)
http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?166740-Lewis-s-89-1.4-SR-Now-with-added-XE
seeing the condition of ours and the one on ebay, I conclude yours may soon be the last original 1.4sr so you must keep it as such !!.
there are of course still several 1.3 SR

top man danny thats the way i see it . it is all bolt on stuff that can be very easily reversed without to much hassle at all . it has got me wondering if i am doing the right thing now though to be honest . may be a should just tuck it away in the garage the way it is and try find another sr

hi matt good to hear from you . dont worry mate car has been wrapped up in cotton wool so far, hasn't seen a single rain drop lol . will update on here everything thats happening with the car . cant see me parting with it, took to long to find.
Its your car so you do as you like with it, if you want to weld in a roll cage, chop the floor out and make it mid engine rwd and take it rallying then do so, but I and most would agree, would only do mods that could be removed so the car could be put back to standard at some point as it would be a shame to see such a clean and tidy example modded beyond a point of reversal.
Personally I'd slam it, cam it and rag the **** out lol
I know not original, but I do suggest you colour code the wingmirrors !
and as has been said, the SR grill is required.
