Van Insurance

Why is it so bloody expensive to insure a van?

Ive got my company van for work. so will not be used for work etc.

Ive got my Nova for a toy.

And want to replace my Vectra GSi daily with a Transit.

Transit im after is a 2001 85T280 (SWB,LOW ROOF), not used for any work, not signwritten, not carrying anythign hazardous etc. I literally just want it for towing, moving engines, engine cranes etc etc.

Yet its £1,000, whereas my Vectra is £500. Worth a bit more than my Vectra (£500 more) Why? Its slower, safer, carries less people, why is it so expensive?

What other company can i try? tried confused and sky.

Got 5 years NCB, 3 points, Im 24, live in a good area.

Fact is Paul, to a tea leaf white vans ALWAYS mean power tools, so they'll happily narna the lock in the rear doors just to have a nosey inside.

Try autonet theve insured me for the last 2 years and about £600 cheaper than other quotes.

I did a qoute with them (renewed insurance on my van on 18th this month) and since then Ive been inundated with "Mike please contact us regarding your accident" text messages, loads of letter about van insurance from xyz company & calls about people offering "cheap" liability insurance!

Hell, VC were still £21 off a qoute via Sky from a broker they use :S

Vans aren't our speciality but we are often competitive on them, not in every case though.
