Nice to see an 8v turbo being done properly.
keep up the good work. :)
this project looks awesome. Loving the manifolds. This is going to be a cracker when she's finished
Awesome stuff mate, a proper job
What inlet set up is that? Individual throttle bodies?
Thinking of going that way with my 1300 turbo engine, much more power gain than using the standard inlet?

they are individual throlle bodies edd , and i made the boost box for them so i can run boost through them, there should be better power gains over the standard inlet
Cheers
Inlet box looks good
What make of boddies are they?
You going to be running the coolent system through the turbo or leaving it blanked off?

Not Running coolant through the turbo, gsxr bodies with atlas fuel rail to suit .plan on Gettin water injection for it as well.have Omex 600 for it as well, I'm waiting ony 2.5 inch intercooler pipes coming for it so I can plumb up the I.C.

Nice motor, is that the tubular manifold & turbo that was for sale on here a while back? From Newcastle was it?
I like it anyway, I have some pics of the car from PV iirc, it stood out to me as I had a Kreg Nova at the time with YRF on the plate. I've had 2 smallblock 1600 turbo's also, so I like what are doing. I'll be watching.

Just a quick Question, so is the engine being turbo charged into one TB, or into the inlet box and then still use all individual TB's as if it was NA?
Either way mate, I'm sure that all intake boxes like that have to be tapered to make sure that the air flows correctly into the engine, i might be wrong?
Scott
Wideband looks good, is that the £150 one?
Scott it's to do with equal airflow over the 4 cylinders, there was a cracking thread a while ago but search can't find it,
Iirc the lad who was breaking the moonstone blue had a one off inlet made and it was in his thread,
Oh and subscribed to this thread :)
turbo-boy
30-09-11, 09:27 AM
Yea it's the £150 reduced from £200. Tapered runners are more for na engine helps with air flow, when engine is boasted it doesn't matter as much,
turbo-boy
30-09-11, 09:30 AM
Yes scot air Into box then 4 throttle bodies one for each cylinder, it would hav been easier just having one throttle body buy that the way I wanted to do means it will be a pain adjusting each butter fly if they each go out of adjustment

WTF?? Is that swarf? Looks like its picked up a whole piston!
whats the whole spec of the engine turboboy?
looking good, will be watching this
turbo-boy
02-10-11, 04:31 PM
This is Normal for rebuilt engine first 5 mins are the most important in my eyes all that swarf and cause the relief valve to slick in the oil pump causing total loose of oil pressure.
Spec is
New oil pump
New main and end bearings
Arp rod bolts
New piston rings
Lightened and balance crack, rods, pistons, flywheel
New valves and stem seals
Remote oil filter.
2 vauxhall head gaskets no spacer plate
Standard cam and head
