View Full Version : blackberry
my iphone is nearly past it now and was looking at getting a blackberry
i very rarely use the apps on my iphone so its kinda wasted
anyone have a blackberry?
whats better the bold or storm?
id prefferebly want wifi
Storm 2 will be a MASSIVE come down and step back from any eyepone.
I tried the 9680 (Torch with no slider, some gayers are calling it the Storm 3), its pretty good if you like a full touch screen.... I dont so didnt get on.
Then tried the 9900 Bold half keys half touch.... WOW its their flagship handset with a 1.2gig processor etc, properly flies and the half touch is fantastic, it shall be my upgrade in a few weeks as my Bold 9700 is getting a shade retro now lol.
I think all BB's made in the past 24 months have wifi on board. I can relatively easily get 4 days from one charge on the 9700 with OS6, no idea what the new fast one will do but I guess 2 days tops.
yeah sorry i meant storm2 not the 1st one, does it have wifi yeah?
Ive got a storm2, **** knows what its got & what it hasnt as to me its just a phone. I dont use any apps or anything, i just needed a phone that worked (at the time).

just looked at the price off the 9900 and a bit too much for me, my contract ends in 4 months anyway so that could be an upgrade
i just need another phone to do me till then as mines is dead slow and stop atm
BBs are ****e dont touch 1!! ive had my curve swapped x2 and then it broke and then it broke again and now BB are saying theres components missing and now i have to claim off my house insurance and payed £30 excess and havent heard anything!
mines been back to the mfr once and had to reload the SW 3 times.... but I still love the damn thing, cant think of another phone I'd tolerate as much lol

samsung galaxy S2 on 3 for £35 quid a month, all you can eat data and about 3000 mins xnetwork per month, the phone is fooooooookin awesome
BUT CHECK 3 COVERAGE IN YOUR AREA,
i have ayephone 4 and wife has samsung,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i want a samsung :(
only downside to the 3 deal is a 2 year contract but its an awesome deal esecially as you pay fook all to get the phone!
i currently pay £35 a month and get unlimted text and 1000 minutes dunno what internet i get free but ive never been charged for data and i use it alot

I've had my Bold 9900 for a few weeks now, it's the best phone I've had by a long shot. Had a 9700 for nearly 2 years previous, that worked flawlessly the whole time too.
Seriously DONT get another phone if you have a iphone, it will be a step down
my iphones doing my head in though lol, if i get a BB now and i like it i can choose when i get my upgrade whether to get another BB or the new iphone
We are looking at the eyeponf for the Mrs and the cost is putting us off.... handset price isnt a massive issue, but the mental tariffs are well short of the mark just because its on an eyepone, makes the £5 a month for BIS seem entirely reasonable lol
Iphones are more like kids toys though.
tbh the only thing i use my iphone for other than the normal phone features is the ebay app which i can live without and probably save me pennies lol
well just purchased a blackberry bold 9700 for £90 needs a new earpiece but got 1 ordered

They're dead easy to take apart, just pop off the bit below the keyboard, remote the two T5 torx screws, unclip the silver frame and slide upwards, then it's 4 more screws and it's all in bits
aye a had a good look round youtube, couldnt find one directly for a 9700 earpice but if its anything like the trackpad itll be easy enough

Yeah it's pretty easy, my old one was apart many times lol, new loudspeaker, new keyboard and new screen. down to the abuse it gets from working in a garage
WOW, I'm sooo selling mine in a few months lol
well ive been here for nearly 5 hours now trying to get my 16gb memory card to work with it, ive repaired it formated it about 100 times and i still keep getting memory card errors when trying to oput media on to it
bumping na old thread but my upgrade is due in 2 months time
my question is bold 9900 or torch 9860?
yeah ibve been reading a few reviews and they both are basicly the same apart from the touch screen
with my sausage finger id like to go back to the touch screen
Seriously DONT get another phone if you have a iphone, it will be a step down
Unless it's a Galaxy S2. In which case it's a big step up. Yeah the back is plastic, but it keeps the weight down.
£20 for the phone. £20.50 p/m for 400 mins, unlimited wifi, unlimited texts and 500mb data.
Shove your iPhone tax! lol
