What sort of length is typically needed to run from the IC to the top hat inlet (LET)?

Need to look at some intercooler piping and need an approx. measurement to get an idea on what it costs and who the cheapest is. I know I'll need a few silicone hoses for joiners and for the bendy bits but just need to know pipe length.

I bought 1m of straight length and had about 20cm left, cut to the sizes I want then got then ended beaded so they don't come off

Cool, so 1 metre straight is all I need... plus the obvious bends etc

Thanks +rep :thumb

I had these silicone hoses on, obviously it'll be different on other cars due to intercooler location

- 1x 51mm 90 degree bend
- 1x 51mm to 63mm 90degree bend reducer
- 2x 63mm 90 degree
- 2x 63mm 45 degree
- 1x 76 to 63 straight reducer

Mine have all been measured up and they are all 2"/51mm diameters so I won't need any reducers. Will need a couple joiners and probably a 45deg bend but once I mock up the IC location etc I'll know how many joiners and bends I need.

Seen a few places on ebay that do well priced silicone bits and pipes.

Which you be best though... stainless steel pipe or aluminium? (the latter being lower in cost)

Stainless steel would be best, but only if its decent grade, if its the cheaper grade it'll start rusting, so you may aswell go with aluminium, its softer but must be capable of the job its designed for

Alu would be lighter too I'd guess. I'm sure it can't be that soft for it to collapse or warp due to the pressure?
