built an xe for a mates westy...rods, wossners, ported head, 270newman cams, tony law system on r1 carbs, made 190bhp@wheels at only 6.5k. lad had his mk2 escort on mates rollers week after...twin 45s, solid lifted, dry sumped, big cams etc made 197@wheels at 8.4K!

im selling all my 16xe bits off and putting the r1 carbs off it on to a 20xe(obv change mani) + ill be going for abit more power with larger cams anyway lol

Ive got twin 45 dcoes on my 20xe now and love it, but im not a fan of bike carbs on a car, do it properly and buy a set of webers or TBs i know bike carbs are cheaper but all in they are not much cheaper than a set of 45s

I did a lot of forum research on this and seemed the general answer was 45s and if your rich tbs wasting money on bike carbs it seemed

Bike carbs on a mates 1600 8v, sounded the nuts at 8k on the limiter, but that soon got boring lol

Go for Webber or Dellorto Twin 45s, and get them mapped correctly.
