Depends on your definition of 'perfect' I suppose. I wouldn't want to do a whole car with cans, for one thing it will probably cost you more than buying a compressor, gun and paint which will do the job better anyway. You can easily go through a load of cans on just one panel, so a whole car is going to use a lot of them.

theres a thread about this somewhere...
Why would you even try to paint a full car with rattle cans??
Just hire a spray gun and compressor from hss or similar tool hire place, buy some paint and bang job done,

a friend of mine primered his corsa with rattle cans (dont ask what he was thinking, and the car has now been scrapped) but it took 12 cans to do one full coat of primer, so it would of been a hell of a lot of cans to do a proper paint job,
You'll spend more money and more time doing it with rattle cans, the finish will be no where near as good is done correctly. Spend the money and do it right.
AN AWFULLY LONG TIME AGO, AN OLD FRIEND & HIS DAD REPAINTED A 1959 MINI THAT THEIR FAMILY HAD FROM NEW WITH RATTLE CANS... THEY DID A PRETTY GOOD JOB.. COMPARED TO THE COST OF A RESPRAY, YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY A LOT OF CANS OF PAINT..... AND WITH TIME, PATIENCE & A LOT OF WET & DRY PAPER, IT COULD BE DONE...
I WOULD RECOMMEND GETTING A:

That's a nifty piece of kit that compressor and spray gun is the job tho
a paint can trigger is also brilliant for a silly string fight....you aim so much better with one....
