my car is going for an mot soon and i was wondering if it will fail on the rear seats not being bolted to the chassis. i have lost the bolts so the seats are free to move forwards. cheers.:thumb:

i'd suspect so. could you not take them out just for the mot? and the seatbelts

it will not pass as is as far as i know. if you take you back seats and seat belts out it will be MOT'ed as a 2 seater so if you put the seats back in and have a crash you insurance will be void this is only as far as I know

It will fail - rear seats insecure. Just remove them (you can leave the seatbelts in place; with no seats they won't be tested).

I'm assuming its a hatchback? Do the seats not clip in like they do on a saloon?

yes the seats are secured with two bolts but i dont have those so i'll just take them out.

If you just remove the seats, and submit it for test, then it is technically a reason for rejection. when the tester prints off the VT40, it will say it has 5 seats, so he must test 5 seats. just get some more bolts

Bolts? Hatch with a 60/40 spilt? They one have 2screws that hold them in. or do you mean the dome headed bolts that are on the wheel arch?
