Headlight clips - are these MK1 or MK2?

Guy on ebay says they fit 83-92, were they different for 93? :wtf: They look a lot different to the last MK2 set I bought

hi your reg bumber has brought two set up one are the ones we sent and the other set is for cars with headlamp levelling device, which we keep in please confirm if your car as headlamp leveling and we can send a couple out to you


Does mine have said headlamp leveling device? Is that the little dial with 1 2 3 etc on it that you use to adjust the lights? Thought they all had that ?

Not all mk2s had headlight adjustment, I'm no expert in headlight clips (I will mock anyone that is lol) but I'd be surprised if there's different clips for levelers!!

They all did afaik. Even my pov spec 1.2i had adjustable headlights, as in the in car electric thing, not a generic twist it to pass MOT thing that's on all headlights.

Nope mk1's do not, wheras all mk2's do im fairly sure, go to vaux they should still have some kicking about, they were about £0.75p last time i bought some lol

As above, bargainous price from vaux and probably used to hold something on an insignia somewhere still. However yours will be the headlight leveller ones he's referring too, for some reason a lot of motor factor parts have mk1 nova years listed as 83-92 sometimes I've seen. Possibly the very last registered mk1 was a 92? Seems unlikely though.

I'm sure the mk2 headlights I have fitted to mine don't have adjustment motors in.

They are removable so someone couldve taken them out before you got them, or if they're non-gen new ones they may be supplied without? Every mk2 I've owned has had them, even my mates pov spec 1.0 trip had them!

Haynes implies they (Mk2's) all have levellers. I've certainly never seen a Mk2 lamp unit without the motors in.

AFAIK the clips are however listed as all models, only difference being levelling/non-levelling which by proxy means Mk2/Mk1.

The leveller motors also serve as the adjustment for height, so whether you know it or not they must be in there Iain, or your lamps are flapping around :confused:

As said, not all mk2 have the elec ones in them. Some you just turn by hand. You canget a bag of 10 clips from Vauxhall for about £3, i did last year.
