I've had enough of it now ny car has been with eccles in staffordshire for over a year now and is still no were near finished all that's been done is the arch has been cut.out.and the front end dismantled its a piss take and I can't do anything about it, I have no were to.do the wprk my self and tbh honest with my self it fells way out of my skill level now anyways, everyone warned me after he missed the.first couple of dead lines but I gave him the benefit of doubt which has done nothing for me at all apart from help get me mugged off completely :mad:


I feel like just ****ing it off now and giving up but I've plowed so much money in to it, it was ment to be the car I've dreamed of since I was 14 and all its done is turn in to a nightmear, worse thing is me my brother and a mate had nearly finished the engine conversion before giving it to the guy.

I would never trust some one like it again should have known it was to good to be true!

A mate of mine had EXACTLY the same problem with that c0ck. He ended up going up there with a group of mates and got it back. He had it for 18 months and hardly dd anything - despite charging him for stuff etc!

There is a thread on mig about eccles, lots of people not receiving parts etc and I think same story on astra owners club so I would get the car back asap before you never see it again.

Doesn't he have a brand new range rover sport? Seems pointless to me ripping people of on forums for such little money.

Get yourself a small unit and work on it yourself. There is a place just past Melbourne that has some small units as a couple of mates had their Nova Sports there.

Looks like I might have to get it back it breaking me now, the onpy thing he said.he had. Completed was the strip down and rebuild on the engine and reprinted it and the gear box ect but found out today that was even a lie so that's still it prices as well

I'd go get your car back and any money he has taken from you which he hasn't used. i.e. if he's said he's done this and that but really he hasn't I'd go get that back too.

It makes me wonder how places like this stay in business at all. I won't pay anyone to do anything to my cars if I can help it, even seemingly trustworthy garages will let you down. It seems a lot of places will happily take your car even if they don't have the time or knowledge to actually do the work.

Get your car back, get your money back. If you need to take some mates with you for moral support, or even get trading standards or the police involved, get it done. Basically this guy has stolen from you.

Don't need my mates with me tbh, and my temper has got Me in to enough trouble in the past so don't really want to take the route of giving the guy a slap, just want my car finished, anyone know someone good in the midland that takes on this kind of work?

I had a mini in to a guy to get a new front end, within 2 days the whole front was off, he said it would be all together and painted in 3 weeks, it lay outside for 2 years exposed with no front end, I went mental, he put it inside. During all this time in discussion he was "I get to it next week, definately" again and again.

after 6 years I turned up with a mates trailer, and just took it, now we are looking sat how the rot has gone everyhere with lying for so long.......efffing fuming.

Why do these peple say they will do it with no intention.

go in to workshop where car is and start working on it yourself.
use all his tools and equipment too. maybe he might get the hit then.

If he doesn't have lots of your money for doing nothing I'd go down there and get it, you're well within your rights to take it away if it's yours.

I wouldn't trust him to work on it anyway if he has no interest in doing it, the work is gonna be half-arsed at best.

Depending what needs doing I'm sure you can sort something out locally. I can put you in touch with the guy who painted my Nova if it just needs paint.

Yer would need some paint doing but.I.would also need help with.the.wiring and plumbing of the engine in tbh as when I started to do it last time I got to a point and felt well out of my depth

I had a simular problem when having work done on one of my nova's years ago, leaves you feeling very depressed to say the least

I would get it away from him asap tbh, as iain says the work will be sub standard

this bloke appears to be a thief. why does anyone bother with him... if i sent a car for a 'professional' resto/conversion, i'd be down there weekly to check on it, having set a schedule with staged payments....but then i'd probably only let somebody decent do the bodywork & then i'd do the rest.

what is the work you actually want doing???im only half hour or so from eccles

Needs the plates welded on and stiches welding the repainting the engine bay weld on one new arch and paint then the xe conversion, also need the rear arch lips cut or folded so they stop rubbing on the tyres with the coilovers fitted
