Washed bores/piston rings worn?
Head gasket would make a nice chocolate mike shake/mayo **** in your tank, and back of oil cap/in head etc, and your engine temp would be very high..

AFAIK Mayo would only occur with the gasket failing between a coolant & oil way. Washed bore/piston rings worn worn give a fuel smell in the oil. Sounds like a gasket failure between the combustion chamber & a water way. Have you noticed any excessive condensation/steam from the exhaust or cooling system pressurising excessively?

Agreed, mayo is only a symptom of a water/oil failure (oil runs at higher pressure than the coolant so thats why it tends to mix that way when running and then when stood the water drops to the oil)
Do you get sodastreaming in the header tank too?
