Ouch, the new trend for Chavs then ....

Suppose it's better than kingdom bumpers etc, that can all be repaired without scrapping it lol

once you sell a car, you have no say in what happens to it.. ok its sad, but the car is old & this is what happens

Bubba

My mate now owns this car, paid 1400 for it.
Way over priced IMO
But he's swapping it for a van soon

A guy called tom bought this from somewhere in newcastle about mid last year and it looked like it did in the first pic but only from 10 yards.
It photographed well but was showing its age on closer inspection with rust showing up in various places and a few other bits and pieces. he had a fair bit of trouble with it aswell mainly engine woos like airflow meter packed in icv playing up cv joint giving in. As you can imagine he didnt have it long proberly 6 weeks max and moved it on again. This i know first hand as it was me who sorted the bits on it that went belly up. It left his hands looking more or less the same as he recived it and if i remember corectly did a deal on a 106 rallye with it i think.
Whats happened to it between then and now is another question. Its defenatly a shame as it was more than salvagable and would have made a nice project base when tom had it. Now it looks like its destined to be made into dog food tins in china like the rest of them

I'll try and find the missing info Ste :)

Does anyone know what bhp it was running? Or is it pretty much standard?

The car was already kinda destroyed by a chav/mackem when I bought it which brings me back to the orginal thread title. When he bought it of my pal Steve, it was pristine!

I spent a few quid on it and original plan was to to do a full restoration and put a LET in but blue Nova came up for sale and it made more sense to buy that and sell the red SR, because there was no bodywork or respray required on the blue Nova.

I also don't know what Tom did to it, because when I had it, it never ever missed a beat even when it was driven hard! Only time I broke down was when battery died.

Only reason it fell into chav's hand in the first place is because Steve sold it way way too cheap, £1200 which was nothing for a mint XE Nova in 2008.

Mowgli's right.

My old nova, it wasnt the best in the world but a half decent car, it now has massive 17s (of the wrong offset), an abyss front bumper and limo tints. no engine and it's off the road. it's at my girlfriends house too because her brother bought it off me. its sad to see it going to waste and not being enjoyed, but maybe one day ill buy it back and restore it. but still, it's up to him what he does with it now, whether i like body kits and 17s or not. Thankfully, after going to PVS this year, he's swaying more towards a mint OEM look so hopefully he'll follow through with that :D
