On the wiring plug that's normally "cut up" to wire into a different car, I need the following confirmed:
- The thicker of the two Blue/Red wires goes to the fuel pump from the relay?
- Where does the thinner red/blue wire go to and what's it for?
Corsanovatuning.nl state about the thinner red/blue:
- Bleu/red is for positive when “key on”, this one is for the ICU.
From the above, I can only gleam that it's an ignition live from the ignition barrel or something to give power to the ECU?

From research that's the brown/white as far as i know, but Im thick and could be wrong.
I'm at work so I can't look up Haynes but it will tell you in it,

I have the old blue haynes and its a disaster to try find it (or i cant anyway). I've fallen out with Haynes this weekend.
small red/blue seems to be a +ve control wire to the icv/aux. air valve & the injectors... it is connected to the same output as the fuel relay wire.. and is switched thru the relay. if the pump is running, then the injectors should be triggering too.. unless the ecu feed wire, black, isn't getting decent voltage... try running a hot wire from the battery +ve to it, just to be certain

Cheers mowgli ill take a look at what you said tomorrow, but....
I've rechecked the wiring diagrams and theyre still telling me that the smaller of the blue/red is to fuel pump (through fuse box)
They also say that the larger is to the live side of injectors.
I've cut the smaller one off at the plug, so what does everyone else run from/to that wire when they do the same?
My cars are standard so I can't help there lol, I'll have a peek at my gte tomorrow

To be honest, I just need confirmation of which wire goes to where from the wiring loom, and which are needed, because I'm becoming more and more certain I've wired something up wrong.
But as far as the Haynes wiring diagrams are concearned, I cant see what's wrong.
And garthy1985, soon as I work it all out I'll produce a wiring diagram and post it in guides. You need to stop txt typing though, its frowned upon
I think the fuel pump primes when you turn the key, so can't you check which wire goes +ve for a few secs when you turn the ignition on to work out which wire is for the pump?

The pump comes on for about 1.5 seconds which suggests that the pump is wired up right and priming. Im really puzzled by this.
C16SE injection diagrams show that the larger of the two red/blues does go to the fuel pump, and the small goes to the injectors. Is there any chance that this wiring could be applicable to my engine?
Also, if it was the smaller wire going to the plug, surely that's the one for the pump, and the other is for the injectors as it goes back into the engine loom?
check the small red/blue for 12v.. if there is none, then connect it to the fuel pump red/blue.
the c16se & e16se wiring is very similar, cos gm always used the same colour wires for a particular job

the haynes specifically says the 1.5mm2 wire runs the pump & the 0.75mm2 wire runs the injectors

my diagram says they are 2.5 and 1.5 mm. and that the 2.5 mm one goes to injectors, and the 1.5 goes to pump. think i might have an innacurate diagram, but it looks exactly same as the haynes one just readable. got it off corsa-a.com.
EDIT:
This is the diagram I'm working from....

is the aux air valve wire live when the pump is on???

No idea which that is?
It is next to the cambelt & bolted onto the bit of the head where the fuel pump sits on a carb engine. It has 2 rubber hoses & a loom plug going to it

It would seem all wiring was fine. Picked up a new Relay today, popped it on, fired up 2nd attempt after a bit of a cough.
Thanks for the help everyone, especially Mowgli. This place is full of very helpful chaps and chapettes, glad to be a supporter.
