Saw this on the news last night, they were going on about it being a mystery how it got there, and nobody knew who owned it. I guess they finally figured out that it was driven up there, by the registered owner no doubt.
It must have got to the peak as its facing downhill.

down the side....flat scat :D
so, the obvious question is this..... why did he leave it there???
1. he was pissed up???
2. it broke down???
hmmmm... 2 gets my vote...
i love all this hand wringing cobblers about damaging the mountain...... the train has been running for ages... he drove up the train track big sodding deal...he might get done for trespass or a parking offence, and they are all banging on about how to get it off the mountain with trains or helicopters, when driving it down is the most obvious way.
lmfao, thats what I thought - if it drove up the track, what damage has been done?! Its probably knackered the car more than anything else. Which is probably why its been dumped there lol
Should ring the AA and see if they'll come recover it lol

Has parking patowayo managed to get a ticket on it yet?
Lazy *******! lmao drove it practically to the top just so he could say hes been to the top probably...Just pure lazy!
i've been thinking about it & i reckon it was a bet... and the car was left as proof..
So theyre prepared to waste thousands of pounds using a helicopter??
Only in fukkin england could such a retarded thought actually be considered.
they seem to think it will damage the natural beauty of it..... have you ever been??? when the clouds move away from the summit, all you can see is this ugly sodding railway that some git built up it...... to a large cafe/gift shop/railway station.... it is an effing waste of a day... and the bloody place has had more publicity in the last 2 days than in the previous 100 years, my guess is that every off roader is going to have a crack at it just to take the pith.... i reckon a nova on high profile tyres & std suspension would do it easily..

go on lad, that id pay to see!
Also he was on radio 2 this morning stating that he ran out of fuel as it took over 9 hours to scramble up
that is like 1/2mph.... with those balloony tyres i'd say 1 hr tops unless he did it with no lights on..... the rail tracks are 2'7" wide, so he'd straddle it easy.
What a way to get a mention on Top Gear though isnt it.

How the hell did it take him 9 hours! I did it on foot in 2 this summer for a charity fund raiser! and that was with plenty of breaks and not rushing.
How the hell did it take him 9 hours!
Its a Frontera not a HiLux lol
lee waited longer than that for the AA when he had a frontera
**** would I be leaving my Frontera up there with reg plates and a VIN number on!
Fair play to the guy though! lol
the thing is that it is private property... there is free public access to it, and he didn't actually damage anything.. and if it ran out of fuel, he was simply going to get some more fuel so he could leave.. i can't see what they can legitimately prosecute him for...
Ahh. So the owner has provided his reasoning now? I missed that.
Hopefully if that is so then he can prove himself in court. :)
if he gets a decent lawyer, he'll walk out of there with an apology.... but he probably won't & will get a ban from some idiot of a magistrate, and have his car seized/crushed....if he has any sense, he'll hire mr loophole & sell his story to a paper

Either the guy is a proper dumb plonker for not getting it both up and down in the space of an hour or two, or he left it up there on purpose to get some attention and appear in the papers. Forgetting the fact he should have had enough fuel before setting off, he could have just free wheeled it back down anyway.

Touché. He must have been curling them out everywhere :S
Funny how they say in the article that the first time it was found on Snowdon it was below the summit, but make no mention of the fact it was facing down.
Should have used a Landcruiser. :d

Fair play for going up again. It causes no harm. They really want something to complain about! Surely it will be impounded and fragged now though!

maybe he reversed all the way up, i mean c-mon how else do you explain taking 9 hours to get up there on the first attempt and also, there's no turning space at the top so he was just b-in practical so he could park it at the top, like he did this time lol
