Hi all, i have recently changed the headgasket on my 1.4 sr. When i put everything back on, it started and ran fine and then last night while it was running, i turned it off and when i went to start it again it wouldnt and started shooting flames out of the carb! It hasn't started since, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I would check the valve timing if its spitting flames out of the carb, i know pierburg carbs sometimes have hissy's but ive not come across them dumping fuel in to get that problem. More info would be good but i would check firing order, HT system, and valve timing.

My dad got a car to do this, he argued with me it was the timing, I said he had the leads on the distributor the wrong way, he said "thats what it says in Haynes". He went in for a cup of tea, I switched the leads and went for a run in the car!

It would be good if it was that easy.
