dvd burning software

im currently using nero 7 (with nero vision 4) to copy some avi files onto dvd. but it annoys me that it takes so long to transcode the file. ive now got 44 files to copy. is there another program that can copy a lot faster? nero estimates just over 2hrs to transcode and burn 3 files?.
all the programs ive look at are for copying dvd to dvd.

Try closing everything else down when converting, and leave the computer alone too, as using it will only slow it down..

but tbh, i've found nero the best, it takes me roughly and hour and convert and burn a 700mb avi > dvd

usually do leave it and then set it to high priority. guess ill just have to be patient. hopefully it wont have a little fit after transcoding and fail doing the Write Lead In :/
