as above. i've been fighting with my gte engine to get it running properly, & i definitely have a rev/vibration/wiring problem, but i was re-reading my haynes & its sown a few seeds of doubt that my vacuum pipes are in the right place. has anyone got a decent engine pic with them on?

i have one from under the tb that goes to the 2 pipe fitting on the manifold near the dizzy.
the egr has been removed & blanked
then there is a bundle on the lh end of the plenum, this leads me to the other possible problem.
the coasting valve is also on the lh end of the plenum, if i pinch the big pipe, the revs drop to normal idle, but without it being pinched, it runs more like the icv is open, which it isn't.
but if i try to adjust the idle revs, it cuts out.

how do i test/adjust the coasting valve??

is there a successful way of simply removing it if its not repairable??

ta very much. my vac pipes are in the right place. i guess the coasting valve is dodgy. i'll try my spare when it stops raining

so do i. apart from the engine stopping at every junction, its going like hell........

which worries me.... i have a long held view that if something old starts working well, its cos its about to blow up.....

Mine used to stall all the time, I had to left foot brake coming to junction, turned out to be earth faults, I'll see if I can dig out the diagnostic reports from 2002 when I got if fixed at a bosch specialist

you can remove the coasting air valve as i had a similar problem on mine then when i pinched the bigger pipe from the valve the idle returned to normal, all i did was effectivly link the pipes together as they would go if the idle control valve was there if you understand what i mean then just one pipe need blanking off so i put a bolt in it which sorted it and now it idles perfectly, hope this helps
