digi dash light dimmer wires

there are two grey/green wires on the digi dash are these the wires that you join together to make the dash become brighter?
i assume you then connect them to the live feed

well if they need to be connected to live just join them to the other black (live) wires
but i m unsure if you just join the two together to bridge the circuit or they do need 12volt to make the lights go brighter?

not got a clue mate, but someone said to me they need to go to the headlight switch so that it dims when the headlights are on or something, ive just left them on mine.. it still lights up once ignition is on

I used to leave them disconnected taped up separate.
