View Full Version : Mk1 spoiler fitting

Just wondering what do most do when fitting a mk1 spoiler to a new boot just looking for opinions do I cut the bolts off and stick it on with tiger seal or drill mygood new boot and bolt on and just stick the sides :thumb:

drill it.. just measure it up well.... i fitted my predator in the field at the nats with a cordless

I'll give it a go I still have the old one so can prob measure off that one

Ever have any probs with rust afterwards

Treat the holes with some paint first then mate, and lots of sealer in around the holes etc.

well, you can paint up the bare metal & once dry, use sealant on the holes to make sure. the boot drains out at the bottom anyway, so it shouldn't be too much of a worry

I take that it's a bit pikey to just stick it in then I was at it today but a little nervous still bout drilling but I agree it would be the best option

even if you balls it up drilling you wont see fukkups

Exactly the same for mk1-theres no difference.

just use plenty of decent glue to fix the side bits.... i fitteda mk1 one years back & the glue failed when going up the mway& the spoiler was flapping round, i had to stop & tape it down..

That's a really good guide andy thanks wondered what way to measure it accurately haven't done it yet but will tomorrow thanks again
