Where to begin, shortly before buying Nicks old car I was mid way through stripping the inlet and rebuilding with all new gasket, painting, polishings etc..
I put the newly painted inlet and throttle body and tophat back together with genuine gaskets and new o rings on the fuel rail. Now she struggles to run. Symptoms below
Fuel pump comes on when cranking, takes ages to get fuel to the rail, when I put a constant pump live on pressure is better.
It runs with a constant live to the pump but as soon as I touch the throttle to rev, wants to cut out!
After a while it cuts out and doesn't want to restart
I never used sealant on new gaskets
I have tried another fuel pump relay and it's not changed the problem
I'm not sure which side of the fuel rail is flow or return
I hVe tried direct earths using jump lead and so it's not an earth problem.
I've only got till the end of sept to fix it AA the tax runs out and it doesn't have an Mot
