Original 1990 Vauxhall Nova GTE:
141,000 miles...M.O.T March 2012...Tax 31st Jan 2012
Engine:
E16SE (1.6 8v multi-point injection)...The 8v engine in my opinion are the most reliable engines that Vauxhall have ever made...Starts first time every time...No banging or knocking...There is a slight squeal when you first start it up (new fan belt fitted just needs adjusting – 5 minute job)...There is also a K&n panel filter fitted.
Bodywork:
The bodywork on this car is unbelievable for its age as there is no rust or rot in the normal places i.e. bottom of the doors and rear wheel arches...The car has had a full professional re-spray at some point in its life in black with gold flake (looks stunning in the light) I’m unsure when as i did not receive the receipt from previous
owner
Serspention:
The car sits on gas adjustable coilovers...At the minute i believe the car is lowered about 60mm front and rear, it has been like this since i purchased it as i feel it is the right height
Interior:
The interior is all standard GTE...GTE bucket seats (slight wear on driver’s seat bolster)...GTE steering wheel...Electric windows...There are however a couple of bits missing, the top part of the plastic steering colem, the parchel shelf also i should mention the clocks will pop out if you go over a pot hole (common design fault with the phase ones)
Electrics:
Most of the electrics work i.e. electric windows, central locking...There are however a few faults with the dashboard clocks the speedo doesn’t work or the petrol gauge or volt meter (i believe it is ether the dashboard clock itself is broken or there is an earth that has come loose or come off somewhere...Also the radiator fan does not come on witch again i believe is down to the earth
Security:
As i have learnt from passed experiences with novas you can’t own one without some sort of security...This one however has some it has a Hornet thatch cam 1 alarm system (i have the certificate) which is the dogs b*****s ... It’s very loud and also locks itself within about 5 minutes of the car being left (just in case you forget to lock it)...It has anti highjack build into it (locks the doors as soon as you start the car)...If that isn’t enough there is a petrol pump switch
Will need a spot of welding in the o.s wheel arch
Also forgot to mention it has a group ''n'' exhaust system with a stainless steel 4-1 exhaust manifold
All in all this is a great little car that requires little work to get it back to its full potential...i was going to sort everything out on it but regrettably i don’t have time any more.
Also please bear in mind that with all those little problems fixed the car would be worth quite a bit
