Right,

Bought a very good Nova shell, but it has been converted to big block by welding in a Cav engine mount to the O/S chassis leg.

We're wanting to install a small block engine back in, and I've been told by the lad who owned the shell before that a small block astra/cav engine mount (bit from the engine to the mount on the chassis leg) will be needed?

Apologies if I'm being really thick, it's got me very confused.

cav big blocks are totally different to novas so how have they done it? they bolt upto the underside of the chassis rail where the nova or mk1/2 astra bolts up throught the mount that is welded onto the chassis leg. Pictures woud help?
