E30 316. Touring lol. has fsh up till 2 years ago, and was regulary serviced by previous owner, new wishbones n other bits i cant remember. exhausts blowing a bit but ill wrap that. needs a new front shock but ive found JOM coillies for £240. and one of the skirts fell off and needs fixing back on. Little rust starting around the boot lock but ill sort that out in the next few months.

Plans are, polish so it looks like that again, clean the interior right up. coilovers, and exhaust (probably cherry bomb as i love the sound of them)

You sir, are a winner :) Looking at something similar to pull a trailer with a nova on top atm as they fall into an ideal range of weights... Obviously not looking at a 1.6 though, although it will be fuelled by satan instead lol

nah no engine swap planned. just a simple daily hack for work and back and stuff. would rather get this on coilies and then spend money on the nova, once ive sorted a flat lol. had a payrise today :D so all is going good atm

it wallows so much :'( i dont think i can wait a week/month for coilovers. so...as its on pigtails, do you think standard nova springs will give it a drop on the back end?

Might do but it will make it even more blancmange like.

even with the extra weight? im seriously debating chopping the fronts too, seeing as its only going to be for a short time.

Especially with the extra weight! Nova uprated springs will probably not be as stiff as the standard BMW ones, you're talking about 1.5 times or more, the weight of a nova! Especially when talking about the back end, springs to hold a piss thin shonky vauxhall with nothing but a kilo of plastic and fresh air in the back, off the groud... trying to cope with a diff, axles, full rear end, chunky seats, proper thickness panels and huge bootlid glass etc? Don't think they'll manage it. Chopping the fronts won't do anything for the handling either.

Andy

You cant weld can you?? lol lol lol

Bubba
19-08-11, 10:47 PM
i can...not very well, but i need to learn somehow, so the nova will be gettin a lot of abuse haha

Chuck some nuts and bolts in the diff instead, do the same job as welding basically :)

a lad that drives round town near me has put standard corsa c springs in the back of his E30 to lower it says it does the job

Don't put nova/corsa springs on it. When i had my E30 i put some 40mm nova ones on just to see if it would work or not, it absolutly slammed it and was way too bouncy. I then got some second hand springs for an E30 for next to nothing and it sat and drove perfect.

too late lol

thats standard nova rears. its not bouncy and the fronts -3 coils lol. anywho, compared to the audi which has 3.5 coils off all round this doesnt bounce at all.

but coilovers are going to be purchased within the next month anyway
