Looking at putting R888's on my nova lowered 60mm, stripped out, etc...

R888's only come in 195/50/15 I have always ran 195/45/15 as i thought that was the best i could run, would the 50's fit my Nova???

Cheers :thumb:

They should be fine, but they mite scrape on full lock (fronts) mine do.

at the minute i got 60mm springs all round (gmax) and shortened shocks all round. tyres : fronts 195/45R15 rears 195/50R15 but i used to have 50s on front and they scraped on full lock, not sure what they scrape on but they did lol

R888s and spongy gmax suspension is not going to work, you usually need stiff springs for semi slick tyres

my settup is really stiff, (maybe the shocks arnt gmax) dunno really

888's will just mask poor suspension and poor driving :)

Or do what they are designed to do and help with grip :)

point missed :p

I'd sooner spend the 888 money on making the suspension better before wasting a set of expensive good tyres.

Yeh id agree with stuart here. The £400 youll be spending on r888s would be better invested in GAZ kit.

But surely Amazing GAZ Suspension and crap tyres is not going to help you at all

Itll help a lot more then **** suspension & top end tyres though.

plus you wont need to replace your coilovers after 6 months for £480 again....

Also will let you learn a lot more running a grip limited setup.
Once you have the hang of a well setup chassis you can then up the tyre grip and start the whole process all over again :)

so GAZ coilovers are the way forward? is this what yous are saying? all round or just front?

You won't be using full lock on track. Not anywhere - even the hairpin at Mallory.

Fit the 195/50's, then be prepared for a dramatic increase in grip, and if driven hard, dramatic tyre wear. Don't expect them to last long at all.

Also they will be lethal in wet conditions mate of mine has them on a civic and has a constant battle for grip when wet but in the dry there epic

My Nova has a pretty decent chassis setup and normal tyres...sure there are moments on dry corners when some super duper tyres would hold the road that bit better but I can also see them lasting a month!! Also decent tyres are only as good as the road surface they are on
