Was asked by my mate Rich if i fancied going with him as he had a space as a trader and was going down for the day with his truck, wanted to take his mini but might be having to bring a beetle back and may need a driver.

So along i went to his spot at 7am on a sunday morning, had a few bits to sort and got there for 9.

Got in and found somewhere to set up his truck and mini with a few business cards and such for advertising for his recovery business..

Polo Harlequin
In Europe, a special "Harlekin" or "Harlequin" model was released in 1995. The Polo Harlekin was an unusual edition featuring a multi-coloured body with each panel in a different colour: red, yellow, pistachio green and blue. It used the same engines as regular Polos—only the colour of the panels was the difference. Originally limited to 1,000, around 3,800 of this series were produced. There were 112 Polo Harlequins made in the UK between 1996 to 1998. The breakdown of these figures is that there were 103 sold in the UK in 1996, 8 in 1997 and 1 in 1998. Cheers peeps was cool to have a wander round but i didnt half feel wierd being there, was with a few peeps my mate knows locally from the dub scene and it turned out i know a few of them aswell so we ended up sat in my mates ex german fire engine/bus most of the afternoon chilling, but some of the cars that were getting the most attention, to me looked like they needed restoration lol

Also had to laugh when people were asking about reduction boxes and uprated headers and such, i just pointed to the bus's owner and was like 'err speak to him pal' haha, was a good day out though and im glad Rich took me:d

Ask yourself a few simple qeustions.......

When did you last see a Nova Sport for sale?

When did you last see a Golf Rallye for sale? Or for that matter, when did you even see a Rallye lol Ive only ever seen one (up close & personal) in my entire life.

Just because an alleged 5k were made, does not mean theres still 5k left.

Ive only ever seen. 1 sport on the road all other times have been at shows guess if I went to big vw shows I'd see rally's but I don't so won't see them same with sports bet people in the vw scene have never or rarely seen a sport

^Probably true TBH. But its much much MUCH harder to find a Golf Rallye then a Sport!! I had look on internet before I said Rallyes are rarer :thumb:

Seen lots of rallies owned one,broke one know at least three people with one,best mate owned one and they are always for sale on dubforce.I reckon there would be more rallies left out of 5000 than there would be out of 500 rotten novasports lol

I don't "get" the air cooled scene either tbh. Mind you, Novas are poo as well lol

From May > September, Newquay is surrounded by a ring of broken down VWs. Its at its worst during run to the sun; I went down to Culdrose a few years back a couple days prior to RTTS, I think the average was about 1 broken VW every 2-3 miles across Cornwall lol

I hate Vw's,like the mk1+2 golf gti's and once briefly (2 days) had a d reg scirocco GT-good cars.
Then its just all absolute fukking shyte,and as for beetles and "splitty" what the fukk is that name all about??-i gurantee you wouldnt pull any splitarsse in one of them VOSA magnets........

I quite like 'splitty's' in all fairness, i think the one i posted a few pics of was stunning, theyre called split screens due to the two front windows instead of one big screen hence the abbreviation splitty, id never own one as i dont have like £30k+ and although i have a few mates in the scene its not quite my cup of tea, still was good to have a mooch round a few though:d

Really don't get the VW "scene" - just too loud and look at me IMO. My favourite out of all them is the Rallye due to it being kept standard and subtle (saw one last weekend Spud so could quite possibly be the same one)

Theres a camper near me thats been vinyl wrapped...does a ****e job of covering the peeling paint, rust and pigeon **** welds. What an overpriced pile of toss

i know a bloke who has a 60s splittie...its immaculate. he explained the joys of owning a camper, driving down the dueler, then the heater matrix leaks all over his lap, strolls into macs to get a drink lookin like he pissed himself haha.
