calibra leathers into corsa

Wired these up yesterday into my corsa but the proper wiring loom wasn't there so cut the plugs of the bottoms of the seats and wired the positive to the battery and eathed the brown wire to the earthing point by the handbrake cable then I wired the proper switches into the center console.. Problem is the switches light up yellow but the seats are not heating ?? Anyone know why this could be ?
