redtop stickers to bling my nova up. (just kidding)

hey all, as the majority of us hate the term "red top" and know red top is a brand of milk as to what most think of when people mention the dreaded term. i was thinking us png'ers could make a nice sticker to promote that we arnt among the boys that sit in mcdonalds car park dreaming of dropping a red top in our cars, in'it.

i have some basis on what we could do or have it looking like, but my PS skills suck and dont actually have PS, just some basic free software. so plear feel free to run a away with ideas and PS anything you like.

Love the idea mate, i HATE the term redtop, a mate's mate said oh bet ya got red top in that (meaning my track car) and my mate said, nah he's got a Yellow top! the other lad was bemused, and thought it was some type of turbo or special engine he didn't know of! lol

As for the sticker, i think it should also/maybe say No Skimmed Milk, just FULL FAT 20XE goodness!

I call them a valver :wtf: i HATE the term redtop though. Think it all depends on where you live and what the original people from round there called them. Most vauxhall people i know call them valvers, whereas the people who don't have a clue will call them a redtop. In other areas valver will be as hated as redtop though.

We used to call them toaster tops for a laugh. As the silver part was the toaster n the red plug cover the hot electrical inside bit. Lol

A mate of ours did a "redtop" conversion to his nova years back. All he'd ever talk about was redtop this redtop that. He ended up being nicknamed the red top riddler. Lmao!!

see down here, in the south part, most younger people have no idea what a Nova is, the usual conversation goes like this
Me: yeh it has a 2.0 16v engine in it.
them: oh out of what
me: a calibra

me: redtop engine may do it for you?
them: ah what now

however every now and then you pass some guys in a white van wearing caps waving there fists and going whaaay!

Omg, i cant believe ive only just read this thread, mr Rob from scunny and a couple of others deliberately call them 'redtops' and 'redtop turbos' to wind me up, it always seems to me that the ones who call them this horrid nickname, seem to be those who have less vehicular knowledge than youre average milk bottle, and try to use this term in order to make themselves appear knowledgeable lol

Pretty gay IMO. Remember, Vauxhall aren't the only 'red top'.

Nissan for one differentiate between different SR20 engines by referring to them as red/black/silver tops.

I've also never bought actual red milk tbh. White bottle, red top, obviously, and white or black text would make it work so much better.

matt, can you try the bottle itself in white with a black outlining still to show its a bottle and either try some different colours for the writing (as per above) or the writing on the bottle somehow.

I don"t see any harm in calling c20xe a red top over here everyone calls them red top. Men who build big horse power engines call them red tops. I think valver sounds worse

Well i guess you have not encountered the chav ****s we are on about, they come up to you when your just getting out your car and say, az it got a redtop innit man, or iz it a redtop turbo, sound like a turbo man... you then say no it's a 20xe on throttle bodies and they look confused.

tbh, its also us png'ers having a bit of fun with the car scene. also, everybody knows that a nova is/used to be a bit chavvy and people these days asking if its a got a redtop dont help the matter. trying to pull it out of that image is a good thing for us all.
