Anybody using an HTC phone get an update recently? As I had one (droid 2.3.3 iirc) and its turned my phone into an epic pile of dog chad lol

Thinking of ditching HTC Sense in favour of a proper droid OS now - looking at Cyanogenmod (http://www.cyanogenmod.com/). Has anyone used this? Pros/cons? Is the update process relatively straightforward? Can HTC give me the gubbins I need to put Sense back on if CM is poop?

Little wary about blowing Sense (which works, albeit annoyingly now) off for something else if I don't like what I end up with.

What part of Sense is annoying you? I run the original HTC firmware with Sense installed but use LauncherPro which replaces the 'desktop' (or whatever its called on a phone). Speeds things up and is a lot more customisable.

Inability to customize parts of it (like text selection colour, its changed from blue to green). The 'desktop' screens keep reloading most times I quit an app too, which didn't happen prior to the update

I quite like some of the features of CM7 as well, like the lock screen gestures
