the round arches are on 4/5 door saloons/hatches. the square arches are on 2/3 door saloons/hatches

so is that the only difference then? e.g pre 97 corsa have older bumpers but theres other differences like how the back rest seats fit in etc..
also what year did they stop making mk1's?
G and H reg approx 1990
you can find mk1 H REG and mk2 H reg allso
depending on models
the dash is also very different. rumor has it the mk1 causes cancer but theres not proof of this :p

Jack and the fact he weighs at least 300g less than he used to will say otherwise :(
id like to get a cheapish clean shell and use my 1.6 engine/gearbox, seats, shocks and whatever else i can from my corsa sport.... how much would i be looking at for a reasonable shell?

Very very true, my mate Mike's had a mk1 (face lift) H plate 90 1.4 SR and has a mk2 GSi H plate 90.
There is so many small things, even i hear some i cant believe, like mk1 doors being different, it's the handle positions?
the early handles are smaller yes

lol just go get one if you want one, simple really..
boot her now tbh lol
hahaha rites
been with her over 5 years. shes wanting a wedding now. already got a bairn with her, women man, want want want lol
It's not just the handles on the mk1 and mk2 doors the holes for the door panel on mk2 are different and the check strap and back bumper bracket holes and the gromet for the loom through the bulk head is smaller on the mk1 that's just a few things I can think of bit defo go for one if you can find a good clean one pop all your own bits in and should make a little cracker
The check strap difference is on the shell side though - one has a welded on catch, the other is bolt on; can't remember which way round it is though - so a Mk2 door will fit on a Mk1 shell and vice versa.
The only difference I can remember on the door card holes were along the bottom where the screws go through the Mk2 door pocket. Simple fix with a drill though :d
My advice is always find the best shell you can get, no matter if its Mk1 or Mk2. Its better to facelift a clean Mk1 than buy a rusty Mk2 (thats assuming you want a Mk2 for example lol)
Jed if I don't find a new job soon mine will be going up for sale, it already has a 16XE engine in it, Corsa seats look crap and obvious in a Nova (in my opinion of course) coil overs on the front shocks/springs rear (which most people say is the best setup) SRi front seats GSi dash/uncut door cards/rear seat/plastics, 2.0 brakes - discs are unused but rusty from being sat around.
Downside is it needs rear arches welding in, they come with the car and it needs some little jobs finishing off, engine wiring in, rear brakes piping up, needs front bumper iron/rear bumper + iron, headlights and an exhaust system, comes with all my spares, inc glass set with top tint windscreen (one side window is missing I think) 4 Yoko parada spec 2 tyres and **** loads of random spares.
Feel free to come and have a look, Danny knows where I live.
Edit: Also needs painting which I may sort soon depending on £.
you'll probs have rid by the time i come round to getting one bud, but cheers anyhow :thumb:
Well I move over your way in December so I've got a couple of months yet.
