I have just bought 15"rfx's for my sport and they have a steel tappered insert in the bolt holes on each wheel but my bolt dosn't reach through the holes.I have taken some of the inserts out so i can get the wheels refurbed and there is a flat mounting surface behind the tappered inserts. Now would i be better getting studs and flat nuts, studs and tappered nuts or longer tappered bolts and new inserts? Also the wheel centres are not exactly the same size as the hub size so there is very little movement so should i get spigot rings or not.Help me obe won you are my only help.lol

Tapered nuts/bolts and inserts centralise the wheel, spigot rings are seriously advisable but not always necessary. I would replace with studs and nuts, they are miles easier than bolts

I've just completed a stud to nut conversion on my nova, which is running (Group A) RFX's too. I had the same problem with the wheel bolts, but found when I swapped to studs the PCD seemed 'off' - the one stud was at the top of the wheel hole and the opposite stud was in the centre. Apparently lots of old wheel manufactures used to do this, I assume to hold the bolts tighter. Mine also have the tapered steel inserts, I think if you remove them, then it allows the use of the 'Revolution' square shouldered nuts - but good luck finding them.
