headlights always on

my headlights are constentaly on, even when switch is off and the plug to switch is out only way to turn off is by taking leads from the bulb,
anyone have any idea how i can sort it out??

pull the cable connection off the switch, if they go off then the switch has shorted inside

its most likely the dim dip relay. on a mk1, it is on the rh side of the dash undershelf... on a mk2, i don't have a clue.

unplug it & ignore it... it is only any use in scandanavia, but the EU thought it would be a good idea!!!
