on a c20xe i cant find any wire witch i earth out...

on one of the plugs near the ecu, there is two yellow wires with brown stripes, cut one and extend it to touch anywhere on the car body that is bare metal (earth it basically) then it should start to flash out the codes. P.M me if you need help reading them.

tried this nothing happend at all... i think its my loom tbh as when i moved the ecu the revs changed not sure though.

do i have to wait for the ecu light to come on before i can flash it?

This is the I touch to earth to flash the codes, blown/yellow from the green plug :

EDIT : The ignition HAS to be on, but it doesn't matter if the engine is running, you will get an extra code (31 iirc) which is crank sensor no voltage as the engine's not running..

hi fella yes still not worked, do i use the clip end or the other half of it thats cut from the clip? i only had one brown/ yellow wire

What clip? All i do is put the Ignition on and touch and leave the brown/yellow connected to earth, then the ECU light flashes > read the codes at www.topbuzz.co.uk (http://www.topbuzz.co.uk)

I know but ive seen there be a connection that you cut and earth the wire i have done so with the brown and yellow wire and nothing happend... no flashing happend...

that sound abit rough touching wires etc do you have a socket to plug diagoists into if you do my mate has the actual fault reader box tool what ever its called

diagnostic plug...put a paperclip in pin 1&3 ~(i think) and put the ignition on. will flash 12 three times then any fault codes

Which is EXACTLY the same as what i said, as all you are doing is earthing it out..

got it doing i didnt have a plug just what in that pic but my wires were all snipped so had to try thadam out what when where....
