if i took the rear shocks and springs off a nova would i still be able to push it to move it?

I actually always thought mine had no rear springs, apparently it's just got some really crap ones that sag down to stupid low with nothing in it lol IIRC I managed to push my old shell around like that but not easily, and it was entirely stripped at the time on standard steelies (i.e not so close to the inner arch)

if you put a brick end in where each spring should usually go, then it would be ok, and probably still handle better than a lowered metro
