View Full Version : 5 speed box in a 1.poo
doing 100 in 4th is a bit hair raising.. easy remedy is not to do 100 but thats no fun right??? so is it worth me doing a mission to get a 5 speed box out of a sr iv seen and putting it in my 1.poo project, or should i just wait untill i get an sri (which will be in like a million years coz insurance is gash)?
dunno much about engines/g-box's but .. i used ta have a Nova Antibes .. 1.2 with a 5speed box (same box as the SR ) .. so it shud jus be a str8 swop i think? .. gear ratios might need some adjustment .. tho im not sure .. :|

I'd wait.... there can't be that many occasions when you need/should do 100mph so why not give your arm and foot a rest and stick with your four....
think of the money you'll be saving towards insurance....
well i drive to brighton every week or 2 and i do near enough 100 all the way there and back and in 4th its a bit rough! :?

in that case there is no top end gain cause 4th is the same as 5th
yeah 1.poo = 1.2, anyway. im not really looking to gain speed 100 is good for me, fastest its gone is 110 which im pretty proud of, but i had a boot full of food, 4 passengers and i was going downhill..... just thought a 5 speed box would be good for high speeds during long journeys, but fuck it, its gonna be missions enough just getting the dents out of my roof, not really ready to swap gearboxes just yet!
its an idea tho!
