c20xe cut out

hey sorry for bombarding this with problems but i finaly got my nova out on the road took it for a wee spin up the road and back but on the way up it was spluttering and then on the way back bit spluttery then started changing down the gear to pull in to my yard then as a started turing it cut out soo i tryed starting it again and it wouldnt start back up soo i checked the fuel pressuer was fine geting fuel no bother plugs are wet and checked for a spark sparks fine drawing in air fine could it ba crack sensor or coolant temp sensor or something could someone please help i am starting to get lost cheers much apreciated :thumb:

as i said in the last post cts!!!!!! if not then crank sensor, the cts are only 3 quid of ebay

would try that first as its usually the problem if not then try the crank

hey i changed the cts didnt work changed the crank it didnt work i got it running fired on three then went to 4 but idled stedy at 4000 rpm then turned it off then it wouldnt start again the plugs keep geting wet then it trys to fire then sometimes pops through the air intake pipe or backfires out the exsaught as if its like ignition timeing but its the coil pack one and runs put when u give it some throttel it dies

have you done the conversion yourself? if not has it been running fine and this has just started?

Sounds like a massive air leak to me.

yeah richie i did the conversion myself i took it out a spin and there was some spluttering mostly in fifth then on my way back down the road as i dipd the clutch to turn back into my yard it cut out and wouldnt start again it started up the next day ran on 3 then stedly idled at 3-4000 then i turnd it off and wouldnt start again then it startd poping and banging but i got it running today and it ran ruff but up the revs was fine but then wouldnt start again if you try starting it it dose nothing if u disconnect the fuel pump it runs up untill it runs out of fuel in the bores connect the fuel pump up and it dosnt even attempt to fire up soo am wondering if it is fuel pressure or something like that what do you guys think cheers

its got both spark and the plug are geting wet too

did you have ures running every time then took it for a spin then it cut out n you get this problem mate:thumb:

hey i got it running it was a broken wire at the ecu but when you drive it its a bit spluttery when the revs are staying stedy dose enyone no what that means cheers

Mine runs also the same really spluttery and allmost asif its not getting fuel and when you come to slow down and stop they drop really low sometimes cutting out....

i had a small split in my xe pipe from throttle body to pressure reg,have you got the correct plugs in,have you got the correct throttle position sensor,iirc should be a fixed solid one on a coilpack version

mine turned out to be that x owner had taped the o2 sensor cable up and not noticed it needed one but problem sorted just earthed that wire and its ok now need a lambda sensor but no idea where to get one as ebay seems to be lakking them....

yeah vausey i have noticed that i have a broken wire on the lamda was it the white one that was broken on yours because mines is doing the same spluttering idleing weird and cutting out wen cumming up to a junction now and again haha cheers

no the was a 3 pin pluged taped up just before where the loom goes into car m,ine was taped up

yeah ave got a broken wire on my lamd sensor nd if u go to let it idle when its warm it wil die and on idle it runs rough its as if its pulsing a look at my volt gauge and it gose 14 to 12 14 to 12 wen its pulsing do yous think that my batterys dud because it wont start wen it cuts out and the lamda senor cheers

not sure as my didnt have a lambda sensor on at all just that wires at the firewall its got 3 holes like this (000) and you need to earth the brown/ blue wire on it...

yeah cheers mate what should i do if its fine in the plug mate i orderd a new lamda too enyway because one of the white wires is broken on it

it also wen u turn the ights on u can see them diping and going normal

mine do that dont know why must be a nova thing.. they have a few things novas that are common... and yer bob new lambda sensor onit mate
