Which is really the best? According to K and N they both give 2 to 3 bhp more.

My spi Nova had a normal paper filter, i replaced it with k and n induction kit, apart from the noise, I could tell the difference.

My 1.3 SR had a replacement k and air ekement which made a difference again, i changed it for the induction kit, no difference compared to the k and n element.

Changed my mini cooper standard paper filter to the Nova spi's induction kit, again improvement (but bad fit!)

Is it worth the extra pennies to get the induction kit over the element replacement or does it make no difference to perfromance?

Is an induction kit beneficial to injection only?

Thanks

big cc yes worth pennies, little cc not so worth it

induction kit will suck hot air in unless you have it boxed off etc

You wont notice any gain tbh on a 1.2. Mostly placebo effect tbh.
Even if there was a gain, is 2 bhp really worth £70 odd quid for a K&N cone filter???

true, though the £30 for the replacement element (fits in standard air box) will save money, ie won't need replaced every year.

On small engines it'll do little more than make more noise but with bigger more powerfull engines helping them breath releases more horses so on small engines if it's noise ya want go for induction kit but won't notice much difference

they may actually lose useable hp, as they alter the torque curve....

if you want one, get it, and if you think it has improved your engine, then you have done ok. just make sure that you give the engine a damn good service & change the dizzy cap, rotor arm & spark plugs first, then see if you still need one.

Thanks for replies, what i seem to notice is that the induction is no better than just a k and n replacement element, The only improvement with this over a standard paper element is a little more freedom at high revs.

And the injection cars make more noise.....too old for all that!
