View Full Version : On track with something different...
In a break from the norm, I got a handful of laps around Cadwell Park in a modified 1963 Triumph TR4 last week! Made a change from the old GTE ;)
Here is the VIDEO LINK (http://youtu.be/JzyWv8UBN18) :)
Unfortunately only pics are of the owner driving, but this is the car

that sounds awesome, i love how you are just pissing all over the modern car :), but what is that horible noise when you turned left?
i have an uncle who lives in south carolina USA who had a red one imported form here, had it restored, and was very nice to cruise around in the heat:cool:, best thing is is wont rot out therelol

Proper!
Some impressive driving there too if you ask me :thumb:
haha cheers guys :)
The noise is a joint on the steering column rubbing against the modified pedal box (the pedal box has the brake and clutch cylinders mounted on top, but two brake cylinders due to balance bar biasing). Something to fix for next time!
Just wish I got more laps, as I was just getting my foot down when it lost fuel pressure - we lost most of the morning due to a knackered fuel pump and I didn't want the owner to go without the tracktime. Maybe next time I'll be able to push!

Yeah its a 4-speed Quaife dogbox, so you just bang it into gear without the clutch. First time I've ever used one (and it feels brutal as hell!) but its definitely faster.
As for starting the thing... its always been like that. I guess the starter motor is just old - The owner originally raced the car in the 90's but wrote it off at Mallory Park... only got around to rebuilding it in 2009 - and a lot of the components have been reused. I think it's getting a new one before it's next outing, but I doubt I'll be driving it again as he normally does the RMA trackdays which cost about £400 and another £200 for a second driver :tard:
