my mums 1.4 mk1 clio needs an inner cv joint for its mot as the boot has dissapeared lol

i phoned my local parts place and they said id have to buy a full shaft £80+vat lol, no thanks as its just my mums wee run about to thr shops and back

my mate works at a scrappies and has a shaft with cv's on from a 1.2, will it fit? they both have no abs

right got another driveshaft to fit now, anyone ever changed 1 on a mk1 clio? does the driveshaft just pull out the box and the inner cv is different from vauxhall ones as the gearbox must have a bit that sticks out that goes into the cv not the other way round
