Will this owrk or just be a waste of time? What I'm trying to achieve is just building 1 engine from 2 possible scrappers. No other gains intended.

1400 and 1600 MPi heads are identical IIRC, they are definitely interchangeable if not totally identical. Hope that helps

But by using the 1400 Management am I just killing the power or how will it work that way?

Do you not have the 1600 management?

note the 1400MPI system is nearly the same as the 1.6 coilpacked 8V, but not the same as the 1.6 with the flappy AFM.

I dont have. Its a SPI 1600 and an MPi 1400.

So realistically, if I use the 1600 Block and 1400 MPi head and management, will it work alright or am I just wasting my time with it?

she might run lean as fat free bacon.....

Dont suppose you remember a douchebag trying to run a 2.0 8v (spi I think) on a 1.2 spi ecu, funnily enough it ate itself in minutes

So all things considered its a no go? Any other options?

Just a point of notice, I'm running an X16XE on X14XE management and although it does suffer fuel starvation when under high load it works pretty well. Should the same apply with the 8vs?

A lot of x14xe's had the same ecu as x16xe's, hence why that works.

And note a 1400 mpi head is different than a 1600 one, the chambers sizes are different.
Do you have the 1400mpi management system now? Is it dizzy or DIS?

Yeah, its present and its Dispac. I dont mind doing the work but I dont want to fit it and it not work.
